I get asked this question a lot, especially by first time home buyers (one of my favorite types of client to work with!) Should you wait until the spring, when more homes will be on the market and you will have a better selection?
This article from last year still rings true this year…. winter is a great time to buy a home for several reasons. In our competitive housing market here in the Boston/Metrowest area, probably the biggest benefit to buying in the winter is less competition. You are much more likely to not face a multiple offer situation in the winter than in the spring. Yes, homes can flood onto the market then, but so too do the buyers. In the last several spring cycles, supply has definitely NOT kept pace with demand. This has led to bidding wars and buyers paying more than they might have, had they been the only bidder.
So if you are in the market for a home, keep watching your matches in the home search that you have wisely had me set up for you. If you haven’t had me set one up yet, what are you waiting for? Let’s talk and get going on finding the perfect home for you so that you can continue to write your story…
